Trusted online and IT commentator Ms Megabyte, has combined with independent research company Global Reviews to create the Ms Megabyte Gold Mouse Certification. The Gold Mouse was created, calling on the expertise of both parties, to present consumers with an independent list of retailers that can be trusted when shopping online.

The Gold Mouse attests that a retailer displaying the logo provides a safe and reliable level of service. Only those retailers that achieve a certain score on the appraisal have the right to display the Gold Mouse. The appraisal is based on the Global Reviews customer experience algorithm that is utilised by major Australian retailers. The thirty criteria selected cover a base level of service and taken from the full set of 350 criteria.

Ms Megabyte and Global Reviews examine the website, purchase from the retailer and contacts the retailer's customer service. To have the right to display a Gold Mouse, the retailer must deliver the correct product and provide a basic level of customer support, security and privacy.
